Private 5G

Enterprise-Grade Private Wireless Solution

We offer the first commercially available private LTE/5G network-as-a-service full-stack solution, designed for on-premises, edge, or cloud deployment with flexible options to suit your needs. Private 5G provides an end-to-end solution delivering speed, control, security, and comprehensive coverage.

Challenge

Public and enterprise wireless networks are increasingly under pressure to meet the demands of digital transformation. Enterprises require faster, more reliable, and more secure mobile connectivity to fulfill the low latency and adaptive needs of modern operations. Private 5G, designed exclusively for enterprise use, is gaining traction as it meets these stringent requirements. Our private LTE and 5G wireless solution empowers enterprises to embrace Industry 4.0, seamlessly connect IoT technologies, enhance worker safety and security, and improve customer experiences, all while maintaining full control and ownership of their data.

Solution

Private 5G is an industrial-grade private cellular network that drives digital transformation through its exceptional performance, range, security, and data control. This solution offers a comprehensive, end-to-end service through a consumption-based, flexible operating expense (OpEx) subscription model. It includes hardware, software, SIMs, and licenses, all supported by our Managed Services.

In Sri Lanka, VCC has approved the commercialization of IXTA for private shared spectrum applications, with other regions following suit. We are industry pioneers in offering the complete hardware and software stack necessary to deploy and operate private 5G networks in a highly automated manner, without sacrificing the robust features of cellular wireless technology. Our solution stands out in four key areas:

  • Fully-managed, integrated, and secure end-to-end private mobile network architecture.
  • The only solution that truly integrates with existing enterprise networks.
  • A completely subscription-based model with no significant upfront capital investment, allowing scalable growth.
  • A KPI-driven operational model focused on enhancing application experiences beyond just infrastructure.
5G Architecture

Architecture

Our Private 5G solution is implemented through a straightforward three-tier architecture, integrating the 5G network core and access points into the customer’s network. Orchestration and network management are provided via a software-as-a-service (SaaS) Orchestrator platform, integrated with the existing Host Asia platform-based management portal. This approach grants customers full control over their network traffic and solution.

Application-based quality of service is achieved through micro-slicing technology, which allows prioritization and protection of individual application traffic per device. The network core can be deployed on customer hardware or through on-premises or cloud-managed virtual environments, while access points are available as indoor or outdoor units. Global connectivity is facilitated by our SIMs, which can operate on both the private 5G network and public operator networks, ensuring seamless coverage across private and public environments.

Example Use Cases

Private 5G equips enterprises with the ability to deploy and manage large-scale, secure, and reliable wireless connectivity services. It is an ideal solution for situations where Wi-Fi or public LTE falls short. Private 5G offers flexible deployment options that can address the diverse and often competing demands of various use cases. For instance, it can handle high-priority, low-latency applications while simultaneously supporting the connectivity needs of a vast number of IoT devices all within the same 5G infrastructure.

5G Technology

Getting Started with 5G

As 5G is a relatively new technology, it’s important to assess whether it’s the right fit for your enterprise. Consider the following questions as guidelines

  • Latency and SLA Requirements: Are there applications or devices in your environment that are still reliant on a wired network due to the need for low latency or service level agreements (SLAs)?
  • Large Outdoor Areas: Does your enterprise have large outdoor spaces that require mobile connectivity for autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs), staff collaboration, safety, or other mission-critical applications ?
  • Seamless Handover: Are there devices within your organization that require fast and seamless handover between different radios in your wireless infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted service ?
  • Enhanced Wireless Security: Is there a need for enhanced wireless security for mobile use cases within your enterprise ?
  • Increasing IoT Connectivity: Is your organization experiencing a growing number of IoT devices that require connectivity across various areas of your facility or plant ?
  • These questions can help determine whether 5G technology is a suitable solution for your enterprise’s needs.
